Some of the benefits proven in scientific studies are the following:
Anti-diabetic effect
A human study has shown that vinegar can improve blood glucose levels in insulin-resistant people. The intake of one tablespoon of vinegar a day considerably reduces blood sugar levels.
Beneficial for cholesterol
One of the most important characteristics of vinegar is its high acetic acid content. Because of this, vinegar helps to control and reduce cholesterol, blood pressure and triglyceride levels. Regular use of vinegar in the diet can help reduce the possibility of heart disease and allows the blood to flow smoothly.
Against obesity
The acetic acid in vinegar also helps to keep blood sugar stable, thus contributing to weight loss. A scientific study of 155 obese Japanese people analysed the effectiveness of vinegar in reducing body fat, weight and triglycerides. After a period of time consuming one to two tablespoons of vinegar daily, a decrease in all three markers was observed.
Mineral absorption
The high acetic acid content is also beneficial because it increases the body’s ability to absorb minerals from the food we eat, especially calcium.
So you know, there is no doubt that red wine vinegar can be included in a healthy diet, although we prefer wine before oxidising 😉.
