Patxi Murillo Viteri

Patxi Murillo Viteri

Growing up immersed in the culture of wine, he decided to dedicate himself body and soul to Bodegas Murillo Viteri from a very young age. Patxi developed, almost from the cradle, an unlimited capacity and love for the world of wine. He worked in each of the winery’s processes: from harvesting to bottling and from logistics to administration.

As a child, he learned the secrets of making quality wine, inherited generation after generation from our ancestors. He stepped on the grapes with his feet and carried the press cake on his shoulder as was done in the 19th century. His love for these ancient processes forged his idea of tradition and hard work that are present in the daily life of the winery today.

His time at the enological university of El Encin made him familiar with the new enological trends learned from the great wine gurus. In 2006, together with his brother Iñaki and Paco, his father, he embarked on the magnificent project of the construction of a unique winery, designed with the highest ecological and social responsibility criteria that mark the philosophy of the winery.

Today he coordinates Bodegas Murillo Viteri with his brother Iñaki and enjoys his children Andrea, Jon and Txaber with Olga, his wife. His son Jon appeared on television as the youngest taster in Spain. At only 8 years old, he blindly identified and classified several wines on a live program! Who has it learned from?
